ICAI to conduct Talent Search Test

Kolkata: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) will conduct All India 'Talent Search' tests on 21 and 28 January to popularise the study of commerce and business education among young Indian students.

Informing this Dhiraj Kumar Khandelwal, Convener, Career Counselling group, ICAI said here on Saturday that these tests would be conducted at two levels for both school and undergraduate level students.

He said students registered under open distance learning programme would also be eligible for these tests after they filled up their registration forms through a dedicated website (icw.icai.org) within due dates.

The first level of the test would be conducted on 21 January only through on-line process where candidates could appear from the comfort of their homes or convenient places, he said adding there would be broad questions for 100 marks along with multiple choice objective-type questions for 25 marks at the examinations.Similarly the level 2 test would also be conducted through online on 28 January at some designated centres, selected by the test management committee for shortlisted candidates of level one, Khandelwal said adding that like the level one,these test would also have 100 questions in addition to objective-type questions for 25 marks.

There would also be some negative marking of 0.25 for every wrong answer, Khandelwal said further elaborating the process and added that both tests would be conducted in English language only.It would act as a tool for talent search in Commerce stream and facilitate selection of meritorious students to get financial reward as well as recognition,he said and hoped that such stringent procedures would motivate the students further for achieving excellence in their respective fields.
Also speaking Debashish Mitra,Deputy Convener, Career Counselling Group, ICAI lauded the aptitude test programmes and said it intended to create awareness for studying Commerce and allied subjects. It would also work as an important tool to educate and motivate the students to achieve excellence in commerce stream'.
