New Delhi : The decision of four senior-most judges of the Supreme Court to hold a press conference was today termed as unprecedented by the legal fraternity, with some experts termed it as shocking while others said there could have been some compelling reasons for such a move. BJP on Friday claimed that the ruling dispensation has conducted itself "responsibly" to the developments that saw four sitting judges of the Supreme Court addressing a media conference and slamming Chief Justice Dipak Misra.BJP has conducted itself "responsibly", said party Spokesman Gaurav Bhatia, but he also hastened to add that it was not proper for Opposition parties like the Congress, Left parties and the Trinamool Congress trying to do politics over the unprecedented episode.Bhatia alleged that Congress and other Opposition parties are trying to add things to the letter and said that such politicisation was "not good for democracy".BJP MP Subramanian Swamy took to Twitter to say, “Watch Judges press conference now— historic”.
The Rajya Sabha MP said when such judges come out to do a press conference, it is necessary to take them seriously rather than finding fault.Subramanian Swamy said the Prime Minister should take the initiative and contact the Chief Justice and the four judges to resolve the whole situation through the process of consultation.
